According to sources close to the Pakistani cricketer, Shoaib Malik and Sania Mirza are not splitting up despite rumours to the contrary.
According to sources close to Malik, the power couple's alleged divorce is unfounded but that disputes between husband and wife are normal.
Such rumours have propagated before, so this isn't the first time it's happened. In 2012, the pair was going through a difficult time and had almost ended their relationship. But Malik and Mirza ultimately decided to remain together after working out their differences.
Gulf News, a publication located in the UAE, announced the couple's divorce. "The Indian tennis phenom and her Pakistani cricketer husband are co-parenting their son Izhaan Mirza-Malik after divorcing."
On social media, rumours about the tragic news had been swirling about for nearly a week. After Mirza started posting images of herself with her son without identifying or mentioning her husband, internet users began to speculate that the couple had broken up.
Although sources have disproved the rumours, the lack of a formal declaration from the couple has further fueled the flames.
